    Bullet age I.D. needed..

I dug this the other day near where a Civil War battle took place, it was about a half mile from where I dug a civil war button..I tried searching online but can't seem to find a match for the bullet, I'm just wondering if its even civlil war related..The penny is just for size.. lol.. Thanks for any help..

Looks like a deer slug from a shot gun shell to me. I'm not sure of its age though. You may want to wait for some more experienced gun guys to confirm it though. We dig a lot of them but the modern ones look a little bit different.

If it is a deer slug I hope its from the 1950's or 60's..The spot where I found it is the same spot the land owner said a famous actor killed a deer in that time frame & no one else has hunted in that area...I think he said it was Yul Brynner, I'll have to ask him for sure next time I see him..

I gotta agree with the others.
It looks like a modern shot gun slug.
    By the size of it.
    I'm guessing 20 gauge, possibly a 16 gauge.
I've never seen a 16 gauge slug before but that's not to say there isn't or wasn't such a thing
    Thats my guess....
