    I don't think it was ever silver plated theres no sign of plating on it

    but iI sure was surprised to see a ring pop out at 6 and it was the full 6 inches too lol. either way Ill take it.

    yeah! But six inches is a large penny lol . I've dug cans at 9 inches. You never know, Gold can be even deeper because of the weight. What stinks is when you dig a Large cent at 9 inches and a wheatie the same depth, like in a field. Looks Native American to me. Where do you live? Maybe someone can figure out its meaning . Good luck
