    Thanksgiving Morning was GOLDEN!!

Went out this morning for a quick 1 hour hunt.. went to a park I've hit over and over, at 7 I found this great men's gold ring.
It scaled at .19 OZ or 5.6 Grams.
My only concern is that when I read the Marking is reads 14 K <S> (S inside a diamond) I am really hoping that S is a company marking and not indicating Gold over Silver or I'll be disappointed. :-\
I did a quick search online but nothing indicates that the S means Sterling so I hope Im in the clear.
    I love the holiday lol

Wow, what a great find! I am jealous that you were able to get out on Thanksgiving morning. I'm stuck tending the turkey and cleaning the house!

    Congrats...

That's a really nice find you made. What reading did it come in as?

I think you are in the clear. I've never seen that <s> as a composition marking. There is plated, heavy plated, and filled.

Great dig! At 5.6 grams, I'm sure it's solid gold and not plated. Also, that <s> is more than certainly the makers mark. A little research should find it. At 7 deep it could be an older ring, though how old I don't know. How'd it come up on the detector?

Thanks guys, I am stoked about this ring, this is my first gold ring in two years.
It kept bouncing around 45-75 vdi range (pull tab then to penny), with the occasional 80/81 (dime)
Beings it was deep I figured it was worth the dig. I really was thinking it was going to be a wheatie or silver dime near some trash.

Nice ring. We get our share of silver, but gold is still rare and special thumbsup01 I don't know a lot about rings, but I'm with everyone else on it being gold and not plated or filled, etc... Probably a maker's mark is my guess also. Nice dig this late in the year.
