    My first GOLD piece

Hidy. While hunting a old fairgrounds last spring I found my first good GOLD piece with name and date and initals of who or what it was from. Took it to a jewerly store and they said it was hand forged. Its a little smaller than a quarter and about twice as thick, and weighs 1/4 oz. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

I was quite surprised to see the reverse of your item dated 1903. Definitely wasn't expecting that.

You probably went through the same thought process.

Congrats on a very nice piece.

Fantastic find! I bet you did the happy dance when you found that piece! Love the date... I've only found one gold (ring) myself. Gold finds seems few and far between in general

    Re: My first GOLD piece

I wonder why the initials on the back are different than from whats on the front. Maybe it was a gift. I wonder what the R.P. signified, anyhoo its a great find.
