    S. Padre Island, Boggles The Mind A Little

South Padre Island is off limits to detecting, and has been for years. Can you possibly imagine all off the treasure surely, all the expensive jewelry over all these years of drunken rich kids, and the old rich also, losing stuff for years! martin

That just doesn't make any sense to put beaches off limits to detecting

I windsurf at South Padre. It becomes a Federal Park about a mile after crossing the Kennedy Causeway. I've always wanted to sneak my detector in there, but am too chicken.
I've traveled a long way, and many of the roads weren't paved.

The Federal Park and the all dunes on the island are off limits--you can hunt from in front of the dunes all the way into the water.
( I think that is correct)
