    Interesting button

I found this button yesterday at Davy Crockett's uncle's homestead. Joseph Crockett was a revolutionary war soldier I've been researching and hunting there about a year now. He led a very interesting life and is buried here at his old homestead (house was re-built in the spot though, in 1948) but I'm determined to find some remnants, like bullets from his funeral, brass buckles from his shoes or perhaps brass button or two thumbsup01 I found perhaps one of his stirrups.

I'll share a slideshow I made about this place about a yr ago. Until then here's the button I'm curious about, I haven't found anything online yet. Maybe some of you know.... it's a pic of train- pretty detailed. I worked on it a little, scraping gently. My mom and I thought it was a steamer and wheel at first lol

Tana , most of the time you get more infornation from the back of a button than the front . i'm not sure this will be the case with this button but it will help , any backmarks , one piece , two piece , ect.

It's all rust... :-\ no sign of anything- totally 'flat' rust. One piece. It's the size of a dime! Have you heard of The Flyer Dan?

I know there's an American Flyer toy train, but this is a button. Maybe a button on the engineers hat that came with the train back in the day?

That's way too cool to be hunting a location like that! I think I may need to sneak down there and hang around you for a bit (to metal detect! ).
