    Let the race begin!

Right now i'm looking out the fifth floor window at Daytona Beach!!! <:
maybe tomorrow i'll get a chance to run my detectors over the sand.
It's kinda windy today and i watched a guy from Illinois running an older White's machine on the beach. He said he left alot of stuff for me! rofl From the way he talked
he didn't find anything. I'm gonna try the BHID out in the water and see how the V3 does on the beach. I'll let the wife run the DFX and see what she can find. Gotta go before Friday as the rates go up because of a race at the speedway.

I'd love to be able to join you out there in the water myself, I haven't been to Florida since I was a kid, I'll never forget my brother and I chasing raccoons and armadillos around, my brother got bit by one of the raccoons, it was Highlands Hammock State Park if I remember correctly. Oh and my brother went around kicking raccoons for quite a while that night.

55° water isn't to bad if you don't go in too deep. Have fun thumbsup01

Well, i was only planning on going in where the waves roll. Enough to get wet just above the ankles.
I saw two armadillos during the drive here today, Giant! My wife wouldn't let me stop and catch them or i would bring ya one back. rofl
Hope to be able to show some finds soon!

Well, day one had a good start. I threw down a quarter to test the V3 out and it called it correctly. Five swings later i found....... a quarter! Many beer caps and pull tabs later down near the surf i got a nickle. Here's the first cash finds with the V3.

    Re: Let the race begin!

Went to New Smyrna beach today. Got four pennies a rifle brass a chunk of lead and a little shiney charm that has D&G on one side and a small rinestone hart on the other.
No marking but it's cute! It looks like the folks in New Smyrna clean the beach every so often. Because there are areas closer to the seawalls that have alot of shells and other debris. Met a couple guys that were originally from West virginia but live here now on the beach detecting. One was using an Excaliber and the other i didn't see.
while we talked a couple other guys came over to ask questions. It was a party!!!! <:
