Thread: So, I did it again today...

  1. #1

So, I did it again today...

Grabbed a fresh 9 volt battery today and stuck it in my pocket, ready for when the other one died. Just like last time, there was some change in the same pocket. 8/

Once again, the coins made a perfect connection with the contact points and the battery heated up real quick to a very uncomfortable temperature.

When I finally realized what had happened, I looked around for someone politely saying... Here's your sign. lol

Yep that can happen with AA batteries if you get soaking wet with them in your pocket.

Here's a solution .A pill bottle with cotton in it is also a good way to protect dirt caked coins from getting scratched until you can properly attend them .

Great minds think alike Carl !! lol The different size pill bottles are also good for keeping coins separated by size and type and for storage ,mailing or til' you roll them .

I knew a guy once that was out squirrel hunting and had the same thing happen with the addition of a few .22 shells that he'd put in his pocket. He said said when he realized what was going on he was almost afraid to put his hand in his pocket to get it all out. All he could think of was the shells going off.
