Late in the day I had a couple of hours to relax, so what better way to do so than to spend the time detecting. I headed to a local town common where the large trees there shade the ground and the usual cool breeze makes for a pleasant time swinging the coil. Targets at this common are very few, but on occasion it surprises me with a neat find, like today.
Based on the tone and Fe/Co numbers, I wasn't expecting anything more than an old wheat cent when I dug the target, but what a surprise it was to see a 2-Cent piece pop out of the ground! It is in beautiful condition too!
I also dug this old pin.
Two old wheat cents made the rest of the finds.
HH!
