My best hunt ever- 11 keepers...

I forgot to take my camera with me- the place is beautiful and secretive in our community. Rich in history- 2 roads are named after this place... I will take my camera when I go back!

5 silvers! Mercs are 1917,1941D& 1944. The '48 washington and '44 merc were silver spill And 5 foreign coins! The 4 Italian coins were in the same hole- very exciting, they just kept popping out happydance02 All of the latter were 1922-1924. The previous owners travelled extensively. I love the British East Africa coin. By far my favorite I had fun taking various pics of my finds lol

This is GOLD!!! Thick plated, but very heavy~ anyone know what it is? It is very intricately carved or stamped and looks hand done... I'm thinking maybe part of a cane handle or umbrella handle? Maybe an old fancy cork/ stopper...

Oldest silver-- 1838o seated dime (no stars)

You know, I bet you are absolutely right Tim! I heard from the yard maintenance guys that the owner has a big trunk of stuff from East Africa... I'm hoping to get to know her and hear the history of the place in her own words.

Very cool stuff Tana!! Congrats on the coin spill. The fancy thing looks like a bottle stopper to me.

    Score!!!! <:
What a fun assortment of awesome coinage. To make a great hunt even better,
you even pulled a SLQ. I just can't seem to find one of those.
Lots of nice silver. The foreign coins are sweet too.
That must have been one very fun hunt.
    Congrats Tana.

Those are some very nice keepers. That item does look like the top of a cane.

If it's not the end of a walking stick or cane, then maybe it's the end of a fancy curtain rod?
