    Encouraging weekend hunt

    Hi all-

Made it out a few times this weekend. Thursday was a quick clad hunt with a friend and Friday I made a 45 minute drive up to an old park that I'd been to before. The place has been heavily hunted and I'm just not experienced enough with the E-trac to find the difficult targets. I ended up finding a wheat penny and a neat earring with .925 stamped on the back, so that was fun.

Saturday I decided to stay closer to home so I tried one of the oldest schools in my area. It's not particularly old (late 1950's) and I'd been there a couple of times before with only marginal luck. Well, I think I finally found the hot spot on the property. In a 20x20 area, I ended up digging two Rosie's ('58 & 60) and eight pennies with dates from 1959-64. I also picked up a 1948 wheatie in a different area. So, nothing particularily earth shattering, but I'm really excited to have a potential honey hole for silver Rosie's and maybe even some Washington's!

    Thanks for looking! HH- Viking

Those are very nice digs Viking. thumbsup01 If that park you mentioned is old and is known to have yielded old coins, then don't give up on it. Chances are good that there are still some good finds to be made. They will start to pop up once you click with your machine.

Nice hits. Anytime you hit silver gives you more clues about how your machine sounds The other finds will come, just keep at the old park and concentrate on one patch at a time.
