    Odd ball type finds

From the land of the Bluenose.....with it being a slow time of the year and cabin fever starting to set in I thought I'd share some of the out of the ordinary type of finds. Come on spring!

Needless to say this was found on a soccer field

    Seagrams good booze but.....curling...boring!

Silver Halifax Indoor Rifle Range medal circa 1927.

    Silve pilot wings.

    Crystal marble in silver hands.

    Silver tuna match pin.

WW1 Patriot pin Long way to Tiberray (not sure of the spelling) silver on enamal

    WWF pewter whale.

    $1 off token for a detector.....ummmmmmmmm

Bullets and hat badges...not into these but what the halibut!

From the land of the Bluenose.....life is a beach at least till the tide comes in and the Bud is all gone. Swish and dig at the drop of a dime!

Those are some terrific, very unique finds! I can't believe you found a token for $1 off a metal detector! That has to be the strangest find I've ever heard

I especially love the wings and the hand holding the crystal ball.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Re: Odd ball type finds

That's what makes this hobby so great. You think you know what is going to be in the hole. 95% of the time you may be right, but it's the 5% of the time you are wrong that make this hobby interesting. I don't have this years finds tallied up yet, since I'm going out Thursday lol Last ditch effort to find more stuff this year , but I found these a while back and they're some of the most interesting finds for me. I thought the first one was going to be a Barber Quarter, but this is what I got instead...... I'm glad I was wrong that time It's a Sterling silver match case with 4 trolly tickets still intact @1915. In the second picture, the hand is part of a letter holder. It would have been mounted on a plaque of some sorts. The third picture is of a book (the Good book I think) that opens into a lighter. I have lots of odd finds, but not many pictures lol. Thanks for sharing those Leslie. It seems that silver was the choice of materials where you live. That's good news for you thumbsup01

Those are definitely unique finds Leslie and thanks for sharing them. That's what I love about this hobby, sometimes you just never know. I dug this last December and showed as a quarter hit on my Spectrum. I was quite perplexed with this one..

Those are all some really interesting finds. I think the KKK member coin is the strangest, and that match case is probably the neatest.

Those are very nice and unique finds leslie. Being able to find such items is part of what makes this hobby so much fun. thumbsup01

Here are two of mine. I found them in 2007. The first one is a sterling silver match case, with almost the same look like the cool one George found, but mine was empty. The second one is a sterling silver ladies hat pin. I imagine those pins were used as weapons too. stretcher:

Amazing finds Leslie... and those match boxes are the greatest. Used to have two of those, purchased from an antique shop when I was a kid... long lost now in my world travels. RickO

Those are the best types of finds, every one are unique.

It's kind of like a box of Cracker Jacks...........A surprise in every hole.

Now I have gone on some hunts with some odd balls whom I will not name at this time.
For every relic that rots away........a piece of history is lost.
