    Silver day today

Hit a few sites, dug about 100 coins, 5-6 wheats and a 24 inch silver necklace. Also got a Catholic piece that looks like silver but does not test as such. The top right item is hard to tell what it is - have to check it out yet. The thing next to it is a screw on light.

Here's the front - can anyone tell me what it's used for and how it'e worn or ?

Here's the back. Pretty neat piece, with all the involvement in it. Steve in so az

Sweet! When you find large silver chains like that, are they usually coiled up a bit with a tight pinpoint, or do you get a signal that is long and stretched out, assuming that the chain was buried in a long, straight line?

V - Seems they are always coiled up somewhat. Even if it was laid out my detector would pick it up well. On the down side I am always digging small junky things . But it's worth it when I get something like this. Steve

Nice silver! Here is a little info on your round ring
    Rosary Rings or Finger Rosaries

A Rosary Ring or Finger Rosary is worn on the index finger of either hand. The beads are counted by the thumb, which rotates the ring on the finger during the count. Others consist of two bands, one which rotates while the other remains stationary. Some are enlarged versions meant to be held in one hand (these are often attached to keychains). These are nice to keep in your purse or car so you can pray while busy about other tasks, such as driving, without having to handle many beads. How old Rosary Rings are, I don't know, but there is an early 16th c. one in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
