COMPLETE SHOE BUCKLE & CLIPPED KG

got out for a bit today.dug alot of iron but managed 2 keepers.my 2nd complete shoe buckle and a clipped KGII it looks like.
always wondered what the brass discs were that ring out so nice.finally got one attached to something.that rules out a lantern part G.looks more like some kind of reign guide

yeah somebody needed a farthing so they cut the halfpenny for change i just love the no-nonsense ingenuity of the colonial people lol lol very sweet shoe buckle Dave congrats on no. 2 the brass items were the collar to wooden handled tools where the iron would go into the wooden handle they fitted a brass collar to keep the iron from comming out . very very nice day buddy.

Looks like someone got short changed on that copper. I think your half is bigger lol Nice complete buckle Not like the oval ones we get around here a lot. I've got one of those end caps on iron too. I think the thicker ones go with that and the thin ones are on the underside of a lantern. Here's two (although not the example I wanted to find) from lanterns. Similar but not exactly like yours. I think you are right about it being horse or animal related
