    help

We could use some help. we got out to detect for awhile today, thats the good news. We started off pretty well, took the spectrum out. You know we found a couple penny's, then it was like all of a sudden the only thing we seemed to be picking up were flatten cans. We tried changing settings with no luck, then we dug a hole probably 3 inches deep, and put a penny in it. The machine would not pick it up. We tried several other settings as well. The battery reads good, it was really confusing today. The machine never let us down before. Any ideas?

    Re: help

the xlt is a very stable running machine . how is yours been acting , does it do alot of falsing ( erratic beeping or chirping for no apperent reason ) if those , machines sit for extended periods of time they can lose any saved programmed that was stored in them but the factory programs will still be good to use . i would suggest selecting a program like the coin and jewelry one and see if you can locate a few targets either burried or just on the ground and if coil connection is nice and tight and its not finding the item it may need to go back to the factory for a tune up . hope this helps

I would try what Del said. Pick a program from the library, like Coin and Jewelry and do an air test with a nickel, dime and quarter. Then bump up the Pre amp gain and see if you pick them coins up a bit deeper. I'm thinking something just got changed in your programs somehow. The factory programs will tell you if there is a problem or not. Let us know how it comes out for you.
