Thread: New Cavalry finds WHEEEEEEEE!!

    New Cavalry finds WHEEEEEEEE!!

I got started early yesterday...really, really early. First I stopped off at the property owners' house to let them know I was there and chatted for a few minutes. Then, off to dig.
Well, all I can say is: It was a long, hot day but totally worth it!!
I found many spent deer rifle casings but in between finding those I came home with some sweet finds.
I found an ox shoe, (which I gave to the property owner along with a .50 unspent pistol round and a knapsack holder) more unspent rounds, 5 knapsack holders, a Cavalry horse shoe & quite few two and three ring minie's.
I also dug up what I believe to be a Cavalry tent stake which was still driven completely into the ground. It took forever to get it out in one piece.
But the find of the day came around mid-afternoon at about two inches deep. A Civil War/Cavalry era Eagle C Button. Yeah!! That was indeed a thrill.
    Thanks for looking. HH

Nice looking button It's in great shape. I love them all day hunts too. You don't want them to end, but after a while a shower and a meal sounds better lol You have a rare opportunity to have some real, undisturbed relic hunting |) That is a rare thing these days.
