    OBVIOUS QUESTION

So we all put our hard earned money to buy a metal detector, shouldn't we be asking ,what frequency is best suited for all around detecting, since there are several used. :->
If it wasn't for flashbacks, i would have no memory at all

    Yes.
I've traveled a long way, and many of the roads weren't paved.

There are different types of detecting and if one certain detector could do it all the manufacturers would only need to make 1 detector. They make water , land, relic, and gold units, each with different frequencies and characteristics.
I would say, an all around general detector would be anywhere from 5 to18 khz. That is why some have multi-frequencies, to do a little better than a single frequency detector.
