Anyone care to speculate how they got in the water? Perhaps the site was a place for stagecoaches to cross the water and these are from a box that fell off? Must have been quite a financial loss back in the day.
Paul, the guy that found all that silver is the guy who got me into the sport. He has been absolutely killing it this year with his water hunting. He found a sharp's rifle, pistols, a lance point from the 122nd PA regiment and tons of other really cool items. When I think about how hard and often I hunt and how happy I am when I find just one old silver...well, it's hard for me not to be really jealous. But he is such a nice guy and he hunts everyday, all day, and he's obviously found a really great area to hunt.
