Thread: Gold?

    Gold?

Hit a hunted out turf spot for about 3Hrs.(that's the crusty clad on top and including the bullet casing). This particular spot gave me a silver Roosie last week but none today or yesterday . Then after dinner I hit a small wood chips playground and got the very fresh shiny money the sandal charm and the gold medallion . The medallion passed the magnet test and has a little weight to it but I or no one else can make out the writing on the clasp . We can make out an M and a K and what looks like hearts and stars .I would think if it was real gold they would have made the stamping more legible . I guess I won't be positive til' my gold man gives it the scratch /acid test .

UPDATE : My Eagle-eyed , steady handed Son says the letters stamped on the clasp are MD30MEX14K . I'm still puzzled as to if it might be plated or not though as I don't know what the MD30 part stands for .

Hope its gold -- good luck. As an aside, consider getting one of those acid test kits, for now, and in the future. They are only about $14 on Amazon, and they work.

I hope your right Dave . It looks real enough but I've been hearing about phony stamped gold coming out of Mexico lately .I should be finding out soon . thumbsup01

Hard to say with religious medals, but the 14K is always a positive sign. In any case if looks like a great hunt, and congrats on the gold. thumbsup01
