Double Header = Double The Fun

My son CJ had a double header baseball game yesterday with a 2 hour break in between games. Knowing that, I took along the ET. After the first game ended I headed to a near-by park that I've lightly hit a few times in the past. This park has given up a few wheats and a little silver ring in the past. The first good target was a wheat. Shortly after that I got a mixed signal that was mixed between a pull tab and the sweet sound of a quarter. Some times can slaw will sound like this. NOT THIS TIME! Digging down and while pulling the dirt out of the hole I got a glimpse of silver! I was stunned to see a 1893 Barber quarter come out of the ground!! <: This is my first ever 1800's Barber coin! <: And only my second Barber quarter. So that was even a little sweeter lol Checking the hole I also pulled out the ring part off of a pull tab. That explains the low tone! thumbsup01 Thursday while hunting with Jkress, another local detectorist and forum member skribnod, told me he had found a few gold rings with his E-Trac and said Co.06 is 10k gold for him on his ET. So after finding the barber quarter I get a solid 09-06 @ about 3 or 4 inches. After digging so many foil signals in the past I walked two steps past it and said to myself You'll never know if you don't dig it up. \ So I went back and found the signal again and dug down and to my surprise.........A GOLD RING!! It's a small 10k ring marked 417.

417=41.7% pure gold which is 10k. ( I had to look that one up lol )

I was able to find one more wheatie before I had to get heading back for game two of the double header. Thats got to be the best intermission I've ever had! lol
Thanks for lookin' & HH everyone

That's a terrific hunt right there! I love the Barber Quarter! Congrats on your first 1800s quarter! That is a great milestone to reach! Awesome gold ring too! I don't think I will ever have the patience to dig those signals myself.

Way to knock it out of the park!

happydance02 Congrats on your first 1800's Barber Tim!!!

Woooo hooooo for you! And so great you found it during that little break. Oh and the gold ring... just think how many all of us have prob passed up 'tired of digging the foil-n-tabs'... it does get overwhelming. I find myself listening for the silver tones mostly anymore Prob why I don't have gold listed in my siggy :-\

Curious how many golds you found for 2009 & 2010? Hey, your silver count is looking great this year! thumbsup01
