ELECTROLYSIS ON COLONIAL SPUR & BUCKLE

Talking to Dan on the phone he mentioned cooking the spur.so after hanging up I decided to dig out my AC adapter.been 2 years since I fried anything so,I went to town on it.I'm no pro but it looks a little bit better now. I was hoping the spur buckle would stay attached as I think it's kinda cool how they fused together laying next to eachother for over 200 years.

Re: ELECTROLYSIS ON COLONIAL SPUR & BUCKLE

big improvement Dave | it looks as if the small buckle was on a hinge so it moved more freely . and i believe its a right footed spur.

Oh cool! When reading the lead up I thought that the buckle came off.
    Cool! It stayed together! thumbsup01
Looks alot better! It'll make a great addition to one of your display cases

thanks Dan,a little confused about the hinge thing but what do you think is the age based on buckle style?

Dave, did they have special boots that went with spurs like that? Or could that buckle be attached to any boot/shoe? Nice job.

I'm not sure on the boot style or if specialty boots were worn
