    very nice piece Dave , its a U.S. Army (Calvary) horse rosette probably WWII or older but it can't be older than 1902 , thats when the military adopted that design.

    Hmmph...I have one with a flat front. The back piece is off center like yours. I assumed the top would be 90 degrees over. Hmmph again. Nice piece.
