8 silvers, wheaties, cool tokens...best day yet!

Today the wife and I spent most of the day in our favorite woods. It was slow and steady at first. I got a silver Rosie and a big token that at first thought was a large cent. It is about the right size and weight.

A couple more hours went by and among other things I scored a Sterling locket, a Merc, and a War nickle. I was feeling just fine about the day so far... Cool finds, weather was perfect. Then I ventured to a corner near the road. I usually avoid being this close to the road because we normally hunt during the colder months and I would be visible to passers-by. Today the leaves were keeping me relatively hidden from view. The ground was trashy here! After a few minutes I coaxed a good signal out of all the junk noise. Dug a few inches down and up popped a silver quarter! My Propointer kept beeping so I kept digging. After all was said and done I had 3 silver Washingtons, a 65 clad Washington, a silver Rosie, a Merc, a 1952 nickle, and 3 Lincoln pennies!

Needless to say that finished up my day real well!

The wife was happy to see I found a lot of silver because she wasn't. She did, however score a War nickle, a large token and 12 wheaties.

After we got home and cleaned up, I got some carry out at the local Chipotle. When looking for change to put in the meter, I found another War nickle! I'm afraid to go to bed now because the silver run might end.

    Other finds

Total silver. I count war nickles. Why not?

    Locket

    Carnival Token

    German bank token?

Necklace pendant. Not sure what it shows but it looks religious.

    Fort McHenry Token

    9 wheaties

Great finds. A liitle of this, a little of that, some silver mixed in with some cool tokens. Spread a fine locket on top. Out in the woods with the wife. Sounds like you had a very good picnic. Come home clean it up. Wow! An end to a perfect day.
That's what I call an MDers day. Happy hunting.

What a great hunt you and your wife had. That coin spill would make me do the happy dance. Nice tokens, a pile of wheats, a pile of silver, what more could anybody ask for. Big congrats on your recoveries.

In addition to the great silver, you got some really nice items that always make metal detecting fun. Great hunt!
