Today the wife and I spent most of the day in our favorite woods. It was slow and steady at first. I got a silver Rosie and a big token that at first thought was a large cent. It is about the right size and weight.
A couple more hours went by and among other things I scored a Sterling locket, a Merc, and a War nickle. I was feeling just fine about the day so far... Cool finds, weather was perfect. Then I ventured to a corner near the road. I usually avoid being this close to the road because we normally hunt during the colder months and I would be visible to passers-by. Today the leaves were keeping me relatively hidden from view. The ground was trashy here! After a few minutes I coaxed a good signal out of all the junk noise. Dug a few inches down and up popped a silver quarter! My Propointer kept beeping so I kept digging. After all was said and done I had 3 silver Washingtons, a 65 clad Washington, a silver Rosie, a Merc, a 1952 nickle, and 3 Lincoln pennies!
Pocket spill contents
Needless to say that finished up my day real well!
The wife was happy to see I found a lot of silver because she wasn't. She did, however score a War nickle, a large token and 12 wheaties.
After we got home and cleaned up, I got some carry out at the local Chipotle. When looking for change to put in the meter, I found another War nickle! I'm afraid to go to bed now because the silver run might end.
Other finds
Total silver. I count war nickles. Why not?
