    bery nice video Nick , i would love to see a picture of the MVM oval plate (front and back please) it looks like a Massachusett Volunteer Militia beltplate but would like to confim it .

    Great job on the video Nick! Some nice finds you got there. I like the French coin best. Although the MVM plate is sweet too. Great first year.

    Nick it could be Civil War related ( possibly a belt buckle a union soldier would wear) i need to see a good clear phot of the back and front to confirm it .

    hey Nick thanks for the pictures , how thick is the piece ?? just thinly stamped brass or is there a little beefy would it be easy to bend in half??

    Thats odd, I thought there would at least be 3 prongs on the back.....wonder what this thing represents.

    It's pretty thin! and small too.

    Nick i think you have the front part to a square beltplate it was probably brazed ( similar to soldered) on . you could clean the back real well to see if the brazed marks are there , yours would look like this if it was all there in one piece .

    Yeah, I'll definately do that when I get back to my dad's on Thursday. I haven't even cleaned the dirt off the plate since finding it.
