Thats odd, I thought there would at least be 3 prongs on the back.....wonder what this thing represents.
It's pretty thin! and small too.
Nick i think you have the front part to a square beltplate it was probably brazed ( similar to soldered) on . you could clean the back real well to see if the brazed marks are there , yours would look like this if it was all there in one piece .

Yeah, I'll definately do that when I get back to my dad's on Thursday. I haven't even cleaned the dirt off the plate since finding it.
great job for 2011. A very good year.I hope that plate is part of a mass volunteer buckle. That would be the highlight of any collection. thanks for sharing. |
