Thread: Well, I made it.

    Well, I made it.

This is the start of my 45th. year of metal detecting. It's been very ejoyable so far. Don't plan on quiting anytime soon. I have made a lot of very nice finds along the way, but the best part were the folks I have met and have had the pleasure to call my friends. It's great to help someone get started in this hobby, and see their eyes full of excitment when they dig up their first silver coin or gold ring. <:

Congratulations on the 45th year. May you have many more years of great recoveries and good memories. One question though. Do you still have that first detector? Sure would like to hear a story or two about some fantastic finds you had at an extreme depth.

Yea, I have a few good stories, and have made some very, very nice finds. My first three detectors I started with were a home built unit my dad and I put together from scratch (not a kit). The second detector was a Jetco Treasure Hawk, and the third was a White's Goldmaster 66T. Unfortunately, I do not have any of them anymore.
