    Old Coins and Strange Relics.

    Howdy Folks!
I went out yesterday and got myself a nice clutch of clad. Sunday was my 2nd
century hunt in a row, duplicating what I did on Saturday.

However, there were some minor differences on Sunday. I found a 10k gold
earring for starters, and my last stop was at a vacant house where the lawn
and top 3 inches of soil had been pulled out. I figured that should make some
old coins easy to get at.

    There wasn't much, but I did find a 1941 wheat penny, a 1919 wheatie,
and a buffalo nickel that I couldn't date. Invited it out for dinner and dancing,
    but still no date!

Among other things is a thing with ornate scrolling on the ends, and I think
it might be the side panel from a knife. Another oddity is a peculiar chunk of
metal with a hole at the top. Wifey thinks it might be a fishing weight. It does
have some heft to it. Anyhow, I'm including photos, so if you have a better
    guess, please chip in!

    Blessings,
    M-Taliesin

I think you got everyone of them correctly, even the fish weight. But that jack knife side needs a second mounting hole but that's what it looks like. I'm surprised that you didn't find more when they scraped that soil from the house lot. Usually they get rid of the junk layer and the goods start poppin' lol A good hunt none the less.

I don't know how I missed this post, but I wanted to say that the clad numbers in your signature are INSANE! You are clearly a coin digging maniac and I am officialy feeling threatened by your amazing totals. lol

nice digs there! and that last pic does look like one of those fishing weights that are supposed to slide around without getting hung up. but i'm not 100 % sure lol
