    Walker, Barber, Seated and More

Today I gave the small park another try. I detected the same general area I had been working during yesterday's hunt, but from a different direction and at a slower pace. Doing this allowed me to pick up three faint deep signals (9 +) from among the shallower trash and ended up with a beautiful 1920 Walking Liberty half, a worn but nice 1907-O Barber quarter, and a 1888 seated dime. The rest of the silver coins were shallower, averaging about 7 inches in depth. Today's total take - eleven silver coins.

The initial tone I received on the 1920 Walker gave no indication as to what it would be. It wasn't until I was about 3/4 of the way down that the probe alerted me to the possibility of it being a half dollar.

The Barber quarter, too, was a very pleasant surprise. The Washington quarter was my first silver of the day.

The rest of the silver. The seated dime was at just about 9 inches, and there was an antique bottle in the hole with it. A photo of the old bottle is below.

One of the mercury dimes as dug.

There were plenty of more wheat cents too.

The old bottle that was in the hole with the seated dime.

    HH!

Thanks! I'm not a bottle collector, but I do like this one.

Your reply to the text I sent you after finding the seated had me laughing. Of course, I could only do so because you are 800 miles away.

The Mint should just get rid of the clad and release more silver for us, preferably dollars.

Thanks! I do hope the snow melts soon and the ground thaws enough for you to go out and swing the coil. I know what it feels like to be locked in by the snow.

Yes, the stock coil is the only coil I have been using. I love it, actually.

wow , theres no stopping this guy now , especially with the ground conditions almost perfect for the next few weeks from all the snow melt here . this is the best time of the year to detect if your in New Englang and you'll be seeing more barber and seated show up because of it , your bottle dates to about the date of the coin you found it with Angel (1880's-1890's) . very impressive day . hey and don't worry you still have my vote to stay on the island

Capped bust? Unless you mean which dime I dug just before the seated. I don't remember. It was a blur.
