    A cool Civil War token!

I did a quick 30 minute hunt after class this morning. It was a bit and I forgot my jacket so I didn't get to do much looking, but I did manage to scare up a cool looking token. It was basically just under the tall grass and barely under the surface. I wasn't sure what I actually had for a bit. Wiping the dirt away I could make out a tree and on the other side what I thought was the word ten. After wiping it some more I saw it more clearly. It says, Jones Wood Hotel and Sommers on the bottom. The date is 1863! What a cool token! From what I've read online coins were hard to come by during the Civil War so businesses resorted to making tokens to make up for the lack of money.
Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting!!
