IH, Mercs and a Wheat Cent Surprise

Boy it felt great to finally dig some holes and pocket some keepers today.

Ron and I got out before the rains set in here today for some much needed treasure hunting.
Silver blessed both of us with her presence.

I ended up with a pair of Mercs, a toasty IH and small pile of Wheat cents.

Plus one more Wheat cent... 1909S.

When I pulled this from the ground in the park and noticed the '09 and the S, I was a bit hesitant
to flip it over. Sure enough... the VDB must have worn clean off. lol
But Red Book says this is still a very nice one to find.

I haven't seen one of those in some time, Joe. That is a great and valuable find, particularly since it held up so well too. Congrats!

You definitely need to get out there and swing your coil. Otherwise I have heard Minelabs get a little fussy if ignored for too long. lol

Thanks Al. I guess it finally paid off checking the date of lots and lots of dug Wheat cents.

lol Yes it did. Sooner or later the VDB or D might show up on the back of a 1909 Wheat or 1916 Merc.
