    One Merc and native copper

I hunted a wooded area that has some walking trails running through it and didn't have much luck except for a piece of natural copper. I have found these several times here in Wisconsin, it is more prevalent in the north and Upper Michigan but the glaciers did drag a few pieces down this way. the numbers for this nickle size piece were 12-34 similar to an Indian. I filed the right side of the copper so I could show the color, it shines up just like a new penny when filed or sanded.
After the woods hunt I took a drive to do a little free styling and found an old country church I had not hunted. I called the number on the sign and obtained permission to hunt it. I managed one Merc 1945, one Wheat and a couple dollars in clad.

Nice job on the church permission and silver! Last year I received permission to hunt a farmers field and the farmer showed me a piece of copper slag he found in his field, probably weighed about 30 pounds, it was huge! Didn't find much in the field, but had some great conversation.
