After yesterday's gold find I was pretty hot to get out again. Like yesterday I only had an hour or two in the early morning, so I hit another tot lot shortly after dawn. I did alright, scoring 35 coins worth $3.36, a small silver earring, some trinkets, and a big chain necklace stamped 14k Italy. I was skeptical about this thing right off the bat, although it looks pretty good. Sure enough, it fails my acid test kit for 14k purity. My kit is pretty old, but I think that's more a concern with false positives... I'll have this double checked on Monday but for now I'm calling it a fake.
