1916 merc and 1821 St. helena half cent

finally got to go out today with my hunting buddy and hit a large center chiminey colonial foundation. We've been there before and
I had no intention of detecting around the foundation(already done that) I wanted to hit the old farm fields that are bordered by
stone walls. I just happened to walk by the foundation and got a really sweet signal 81 on a dfx 8 deep. Called my buddy over
to check it out, he guessed silver I said large cent. Out came a coin neither one of use could identify so I put it in water and when we got back to the truck checked it out on his I pad and low and behold turned out to be a 1821 St. Helena half cent. The coin was
made by the british east india company. How on earth did that coin make it to Rutland? I have it soaking in olive oil for now, but I
would like to be able to see more detail on the coat of arms side.Any idea's? later in the day after lunch I found a 1916 merc. no
mint mark crying01. This was the first time in a month that I got to do some swinging, been a crazy busy spring. Next month isn't looking
    any better either.
on a totally unrelated topic, I own a small roll-off dumpster service and i often do a house clean out.On my last one I found this
bayonet. It is from Turkey made in 1874, the blade is almost 23 long. I would hate to carry that thing on the end of my rifle or to be
on the receiving end. Over the years Ive found some pretty cool stuff and if you think it is appropriate I will share some with you on this forum. let me know. thanks for looking

I just read that they were issued by the East India Trading Co. 1821 was the first year, if not the only year. Nice finds, thanks.
