Found a true Earthly Treasure last Sunday!

My friend invited me to her hometown to detect a reaLLLLy old park next to a spring last Sunday. There's a canal leading from the spring under a stone bridge (the pics really don't do it justice) and there are these steps where they used to do Baptisms.

I was swinging near those steps when I said to her: Ya know, it sure would be neat to pull up a religious medallion over here and just minutes later I pulled this out of the ground!

It was about 5 deep next to a glazed brick -you can see it in one of the pics- so I thought it must be pretty old. But the antique jewelry store I took it to confirmed that it was sterling and CZ and not antique. He called it bling from the 80's :-\ crying01

But it's still very special to me Btw I'm going to spend all next week detecting during the day because my kids are going to summer camp in that town

I found the other items at various sites. I have a good story about the eagle buttons- I found the older one there near the cross, but involves more pics & will post it in Relics at a later time--- mostly because we're in a rush (my hubby is nagging me right now) lol to get on the road to visit my step-dad for father's day.

That sure is one nice religious medallion. The park looks really great and hope on your return trips you find some more keepers. Your other finds (silver, buttons) look good also. Nice to see ya posting again and will be looking forward to your future posts.

Thanks Tim! Yes it's an 1880 IH I found at an old distillery and mill! I also found the 1943 merc there- in front of the house built in 1790. I am determined to find more there. I did find lots of lantern parts, always a fun find for me

A beautiful Cross Tana, but tell the jeweler the Cross is never just bling but a treasure beyond compare. Not an Earthly treasure alone but much more!
