New to forum and metal detecting

Hello, I am new to the world of metal detecting. Currently I am awaiting the arrival of my first metal detector. I had to go with an entry level machine for now since I don't have alot of experience in this hobby. I hope to learn alot from this forum. Thanks for having me.

Re: New to forum and metal detecting

Actually I had been wanting to get a detector for awhile and my wife ordered me a Bounty Hunter IV. If I do get hooked on this hobby then I can upgrade later. My wifes cousin has found all kinds of civil war relics in our area of Richmond Va. using the same detector. So while it's not the best machine it does seem to get the job done. I look forward to any help anyone can offer. Thanks for the warm welcomes.

Re: New to forum and metal detecting

You are in a good area Patrick. I grew up in Manassas, & wished I was detecting back then. Came home to visit in Feb, and went down to my brothers house in Fredricksburg to metal detect his yard. He had built a house on part of the Chancllersville Battlefield area, and found a civil war bullet on the edge of his driveway. I wish I could have spent the weekend there, but there is always next visit. Good hunting to ya thumbsup01. Eric
