Well I have to admit 2012 was just a crazy year for me in the finds dept. Looking back I have to say 4 years ago when Dan took me on my very 1st cellar hole hunt I never would have imagined that I would be sitting here right now with so many pictures to post & so many stories & adventures to write about.Finds featured in western & eastern treasure mag best finds issues, writing articles for american digger magazine, the great friends & hunting partners I have had the pleasure of hunting with & can honestly say each & every one of them are awesome! invited to group hunts & seeing some amazing things dug by all of them.
I don't even know where to start? last year i had 80 3/4's large coppers.no way i could even come close to that in 2012 but,I did with 92 | that in itself was a milestone for me.not to mention many more 1st's for me.
I stumbled onto a virgin colonial cellar hole.15 coppers from that one site alone.
the list goes on & on.
my 1st seated half, british rev war naval button, rare 1820's diplomatic button,a rare 1824 Andrew Jackson inaugural button,a rare early one piece connecticut militia button, broke into the 1600's with a worn william the III bender love token.then came duplicates of other rare items i had dug in the past.another early NY exclesior eagle button,3 more early general lafayette buttons, some civil war buttons and to end the year my 4th George Washington Inaugural button! I'm pretty much speachless at the stuff that is still in the ground at hunted out spots.I wanna thank all my hunting buddies in no particular order.Jesse(sniffy),Gary(foundationhunter),Todd(Th iltzy),Dan(Del),George(Coinnut),Mike(Forino),Roger (The Rebel),Frank(Fastfrank) honorable mentions to Drew (oxshoe drew)Brandon(merc) & Scott (GTP guy, safari scott)
I really enjoyed hunting with you all,you are all unique individuals who share this same crazy passion for colonial cellar hole hunting as I do.I think we are all sometimes a little crazy for the extreme conditions in which we hunt, the hunger to find that next piece of colonial history of our forefathers & mothers that built this great nation! Have a great 2013 all.be safe and remember...research,patience & persistence pays off!
