1827 Large Cent turned into a toy...

I found this oldie in a city easement here in Kalamazoo. As you can see, someone put two holes in it. Years ago, people would run a string through the holes and the coin would whiz back and forth across the length of the string when it was pulled taut, hence the name 'whizzer' which coins (or buttons) are called when transformed in this fashion.[attachimg=1][attachimg=2]

! Hello fellow Michigander! I'm from Waterford. on finding the large cent. Too bad it has holes in it. But it's still a cool find. I have never found a L.C. But still trying. We are kind of snowed in at the time. Are we not? We're supposed to be warming up in the next few days. Above freezing anyway. Here's hoping this winter is going to start turning the other way. When I was a little boy in the 1950's I can remember that my grampa had a coffee can full of bolts, nuts and washers. Some of the washers had dates on them from the 1800's. I thought that was weird at the time. I realize today that they must have been drilled out large cents.
