    Not a Military Button

Found this today at the old closed down Military School I've been detecting for for almost a year. Looks simular to a pin I had found earlier but this one has flip posts on the back and a number on the front. Any body have an idea on what this was used for? What do you think, Del? Thanks

If those are Army Infantry insignia crossed rifles they are old because I think the Army stopped using current rifles as the insignia and went to the 1790's musket as the official insignia after WWI.

Thanks del and Skamaniac. This was found out by the horse stable, so del you might of hit the nail right on the head. And Skamaniac, I bet they are old ones, since this school was started just prior to the Civil War. Good hunting guys.
