    found today 5-27-2013

    dont know what it is but its kinda neat. its gold clad or was at one time it was 6 inches deep. and showed as a ring on the display.

    can you post a good clear closeup picture of the back , do you see any hallmarks or maker's marks on it anywhere ??

    not any hallmarks that i could find the back is pretty deteriorated i will try to post up a pic of it later tho

    I believe it may have been a ring. I make jewelry and the tearout in the back looks a lot like some of the broken rings i have repaired. Some makers use a very thin plade on the back and the roumnd part of the ring is soldered to the backplate. Due to the thinness of the plate and the small solder spot, many times the top would tear off when caught on things.
