Hi, I am new to metal detecting, but I am definitely hooked. I live in Shawnee, OK and would love to meet other dirt-fishers in the area.

Welcome from southern Nevada.
I like Oklahoma. I used to do a lot of business in Oklahoma City and spent a hundred years in Lawton one summer.
I've traveled a long way, and many of the roads weren't paved.
I hunt wherever I can. Unfortunately, that's mainly parks, schools and my own yard right now...I just got my new detector (Tek Delta 4000) so I get to hunt those spots again!

Hey nosdoogm!
Welcome from a fellow Okie. I'm 2-3 hours North of Shawnee. I've been hunting for about 5 years but have really gotten hooked lately. There are some great places in Oklahoma. It just takes some work to find them. I find myself running off the road every time I spot an old house. Hunting in 95 degree weather with the ground as hard as concrete is a little tough but it's still better than being at work.
It's a rush evey time You dig up something cool that has been hidden for a hundred years. Have fun and enjoy digging.
