I got up this morning and went to the local flea market before it got hot. On the way there, I noticed a small curb strip downtown that looked like it would be easily overlooked. On the way back, I stopped off and swung over it. It was a tiny strip of grass, about 50 feet by 18 inches. I found a couple of clad coins, a memorial and this small ring about 3 inches down. I thought it was plated and just dropped it in my pocket. Boy was I ever surprised when I got it home and cleaned it up enough to see "Sterl." next to the makers mark. I anticipated my first silver would be a Mercury dime or a Washington quarter,,,,, but it's way cooler that my first was a piece of jewelry.
