Another Draped Bust and some buckles

We were real slow at work today so my boss let me go early. Came home, charged up the battery and off I went to the golf course.

I believe that this is the 3rd Draped Bust out of there and this is the only one with a date....1801. Came out of my 3rd hole and it did not give a copper VDI????

A couple of more buckles and some clad.

It was a short hunt and thanks for reading. HH everyone.

Congrats on the drape bust, I just dug my second and both were dateless.. my last one rang up slighlty higher than a copper but it was crusted in a think green patina and had a huge halo in the plug guess 200 plus years in the ground will do that, did your ring higher or lower?

Grass still doable....I will be in NH this week so no detecting. I might be able to get out on Mothers Day, if not then the following Tuesday.

The VDI was way off. Normally my coppers will ring up 78-83 VDI. This one and my 1819 rang up 89-91 with red and green indicators. This Draped Bust was about 25 yards away from my first one there and the 1819 was in between them. Looks like I should be concentrating in this area...

My coppers usually stay pretty consistent 81-83 but the drape bust rang up 88-89, I think its the halo because I dug two largies about 2 feet away and they both hit solid 83 , I would pound that area and dig every repeatable signal ( and even the choppy ones) but I tend to be dramatic in these situations

Way to go Al! Do you know the history of the land pre-golf course days? Perhaps a tavern or meeting place once stood nearby way back?

I wish I knew the history. You may have guessed right about a tavern or meeting place.
