    Hi,

I just got my first metal detector yesterday. I have found 51 Cents in clad and a bunch of screws, bolts and metal from who knows what.
I am interested in detecting near and old staqe coach trai here near my house in Chatsworth California but I am not sure of the laws yet

Rebounded, welcome from western MA. Glad you found this forum and we are all looking forward to your posts. You can probably start by checking who actually owns the land that the stage coach road runs thru.

From the wine country in Northern California, welcome to the forum. It appears you have you a spot to search in mind. Research is the key. Always get permission to hunt on private property. Don't be afraid to ask, the worst they can say is no. Good luck and happy hunting.

Welcome to the forums. If the stage coach trail is on private property, you will need permission to hunt it.

    Thanks for all the info.

I found that this trail is actually part of a huge land set aside as an historic park. Looks like I will have to move on to other areas.
