    This weekend's loot!

I managed to get out twice this weekend! (I hit a really old park in town)

This is a really awesome place to hunt, but it is almost as if someone used a wood chipper to shred aluminum cans! I have never seen so much garbage in a place as nice as this one! Unusually, I hunted in ALL METAL mode with 3 bars of sensitivity about 80% of the time. It worked extremely well and I will probably hunt in this mode from now on! (ACE 250)

I found quite a bit of clad, a couple of bullets, some pieces of broken jewelry and a 1918 wheat. I am pretty confident that this park will cough up some silver....and maybe gold! I am actually digging a TON of Nickels, so the other dudes that hunt the park may have either passed them by accidentally or they simply ignored the signals. Rings and jewelry usually ring right around the Nickel-Pulltab-Penny area on my detector, so this is a pretty good sign!

    Here are the pics------>

Looks like a great park. There has to be some silver there. Congrats on the wheat and looking forward to your posts on this park.

A nice hunt and great pictures . The place looks like a real gold and silver producer . I'll bet there's a bit of jewelry around that pool . How deep have your average finds been ?

    Re: This weekend's loot!

Average target depth for plain ol' clad was usually no deeper than 3-4 inches. I did find several bottle caps at 6+ inches.......the tones went off like a bottle rocket and the pinpoint was very tight, so I got excited for nothing most of the time, but I'd imagine that most of us know how that feels!

There is a small stream that trickles through the park. I actually found multiple small pocket spills in gravel bars and on the banks. There were instances where I was digging 2, 3 & 4 coins at a time, which is always exciting....

This park is a whole lot bigger than it looks in the pics and I have barely scratched the surface, so I'd say that there's treasure in them there hills!

....now that I think about it, I believe that .22 bullet was probably one of the deepest targets that I recovered. It was pretty stinkin' deep which is odd for it's extremely small size!

    Re: This weekend's loot!

I went back to the same place today for a couple of hours and I dug up 8 Nickels in a relatively small area.

I guess people just ignore Nickels.......but I am an equal opportunity coinshooter - NO NICKELS LEFT BEHIND!

That park looks like a dream spot to hunt, Zach! So beautiful and peaceful looking. It appears that you are going to find a lot of goodies there. Are you finding a lot of junk too, like pulltabs?

    Re: This weekend's loot!

Tony.......there is so much junk that I am forced to hunt in all metal mode so the discrimination don't mask coin targets that are close to trash. A tiny sniper coil would probably be a good investment, but I'm getting pretty proficient in finding coins among the junk! (knock on wood!!!)

I agree.........it's an amazing place to hunt!! I will take some better pics next weekend! My brother has an ACE250 as well, so we are gonna tag team it with a pair of Aces! <:

Yep... that's a lot of loot.
I like the pictures of the park. Sure looks like there is plenty of potential there. :->

I hunted with the Ace 250 for about a year and loved what that machine did for me. Found lots of silver and relics with it.

Looking forward to your next hunt there. :-> Congrats.
