    Massachusetts copper 1788

I was able to get out and get in some swinging time. Got a Massachusetts copper....my first. It is a shame though, that once the crust falls off, I think all the detail will go with it.

Pics are not the best, but you get the gist. thanks for looking. HH, Dan

    Congrats

Bummer about the condition but the eagle looks pretty good. That's how I feel about my grungy 1865 2 cent piece, but at least we can tell what they are

I hope it stays together. Btw how do you store your coppers?

Tanacat, Very few of my coppers look good at all. Sometimes I only get a small window to get a date. when that outer layer comes off, and all the detail goes with it. I am usually left with a dull, flat bump on a copper disc. :-\ As far as storing them goes, I rub a little chapstick on them and put them in the cardboard coin holders. I write the date, and type on the card and that is pretty much it. Dan
