Hunting with Don & I got another AWESOME coin!

    Hey Diggers,
I figure it's only a matter of time before someone says I'm faking all these great finds! LOL! Thankfully I have Don as my good luck charm/witness! We went door knocking again and got 7 yesses in a row. 4 of the houses were complete busts but 3 of them had some good finds. Don made the best find of the day but I'll let him tell you about that.

I also found 2 sterling rings that look pretty old. I appreciate any help with the marks! Thanks for looking and happy hunting to all of you! Dave.

It was a great hunt for sure Dave. You pounded the left side of that yard. If you think about it, you were less than a hundred yards from where you dug the 1843 Seated Half. That one Merc looks like something Tom would pull out of the river. LOL.
Congrats on all your good finds, but that SLQ is a stunner.

If the predicted rain comes, I'll see ya this weekend!

Amazing finds Dave!! You sure are on a roll! Did you know about the orchard before hunting the area, or did you learn about that after?

After. We kept finding 1800s coins at houses built in the 1940s! A home owner finally clued us in on the history of the block.

    Great hunt, beautiful SLQ!
As for marks in the rings, they are maker's marks next to the sterling stamp.

Dave, that SLQ is a real beauty, dropped immediately after minting.... From what I have been reading about your and Don's digging adventures it seems that you are hitting just this one town....for now. I think that your plan is to find all the goodies in that town before moving on to the next town...then the next.....sort of like the aliens in the movie Independence Day.....

Another terrific hunt, Dave! That SLQ is one of the nicest I've seen! I love it when you can see that beading around the edge. It's rare to see one of the earlier SLQs in that condition. Outstanding!
