Key Date 1914-D Wheat, Silver & Buff

Alec and I decided to travel a couple of hours from home this morning to do some Park hunting.
We were at the first park for about half an hour when Alec dug his first good target, a 1930 Buffalo. 20 minutes later, a 1945 Merc. He finished the park off with a small button that was down about 9 inches. I dug a 1945-P War nickel and a 1914-D Wheat Cent. Alec told me he was pretty sure it was a Key Date, so we looked it up on e-Bay. Yep, pretty nice find.
The second park was small, about the size of average back yard. Alec started along the sidewalk. In his first twenty feet, he dug a 1944 Washington and a 1926 Merc. He also found a shell casing right next to a veterans memorial. I dug a few more wheats and a beat up Tax Token.
Another great day out with my son.

You guys did pretty darn good! Congrats. Amazing what you can find even in the little bitty parks. It snowed all day here so I was housebound. :-(
