Weekend hunts gives up old Silver, Copper, a sweet Trigger Guard, Rings and more

Dave and I were at again this past weekend trying some new sites and revisiting others. As Dave already mentioned, two of the sites had visitors that we must have just missed. With very fresh holes left open everywhere, we both just shook our heads in disgust I looked at Dave and said to him " lets see how good those treasure hunters are." Immediately, we started popping buttons and just smiled at one another. Not very good apparently They missed some really nice relics it seems. I left there with a beautiful copper on brass trigger guard, a set of cuff links, a mans brass ring with inscription, and a handful of buttons.

Sunday was even better for me My first One Reale found my coil with a date of 1800 and then an 1838 Large Cent. It's funny how I just mentioned in George's(Coinnut's) post that it had been about a year since I had dug any reales

the reales are popping up out of the cold earth lately , guess they hate the cold congrats on the 1 reale Todd , that "trigger guard" is an odd one , i don't think i've seen one like it. have you found any pictures to the gun it went on ?? also any idea as to what is written on the inside of the ring??

I wouldn't know where to begin to find a gun match for the trigger guard Dan. The picture through the loop shows the inscription Dan. It says "2 dmt"t"

Great Hunt Todd! Too bad we're shut down until the snow melts down and the ground unfreezes.

Nice hunting and those other hole diggers definitely left you guys some goodies. Poetic justice would have been served if you had found the Spanish in one of the open holes....

    Incredible coins and relics, Todd!

You found a little bit of everything: buckles, buttons, rings, cufflinks, trigger guard, not to mention the wonderful coins. Love that 1800 1 real! That large cent is a beauty too!
