Are E-trac coils water proof?

I got a hint to a creek with a shallow waterfall that the kids use to toss coins into. After alot of searching and probing the water I think I found the location. The water is only 2.5 / 3 feet deep at the base of this falls. thinking of going after it if the coil will be safe.

The standard 11 coil that comes with the E-Trac is waterproof, just don't drop the control box (E-Trac) in the water or let water run up the inside of the rod / shaft as this will kill the E-Trac.
