    A Three Silvers Day...

When out Friday before the rain with my hunting partner Jimmy. We both had a good day. I was particularly happy getting 3 silvers and breaking the hundred year mark with a 1913 Wheatie. The 1917 Token was found the week before.

    Older Navy Button...

I'm not button expert, any help appreciated. It appears to be a Navy button, Silver on front and tin on back. 13 Stars, and the eagle looking to it's left holding the anchor in claws. From a little research the "looking left" means pre WWII back to Civil War...

Found a very rare and coveted 1956 Mercury!

Had a fun week detecting this week, found three Mercurys. Oldest was a 1919, followed by a 1942. The third was the very rare and coveted 1956 Merc! The 1907 V-Nickel was this weeks oldest coin found, also found a 36 buffalo, 20 Wheatie and a Silver Cross Ring. Who else has a 56 Mercury in...

    Victorian era Ring...?

I found this silver Ring on property that once was a German Catholic Church built in 1885. I'm certainly not an expert, but it looks to be Victorian era. Rang up as a 12-47.

Too nice of a day not to get out hunting...

Too nice of a day not to get out hunting. Found the usual clad, a very nice 1926 Wheatie, and this worn Barber Dime. Funny thing is everything about it is worn, but the date. My oldest find of the day...

MEXICO Sonora State Republic 1831-36 1/4 Real (Cuarto)

While treasure hunting in Arizona I found this 1831-36 Sonora 1/4 real. It is exactly the same diameter as an American Nickel, but made from copper. The coin has been soaking in olive oil for 2 weeks and these are the best photo's so far. This now is my oldest and first hammered coin...

One thing I really like about this forum...

This may seem trivial, but showing the location of the poster on the left is really helpful. I've too often on other forums seen posters post their finds, leaving me wonder where is the world this guy found that. Love to see remarks stating found at... church, school, park, how deep it was...

1904 St. Louis World's Fair Ring "The Louisiana Purchase Exposition"

I have always had a strong interest in the 1904 Worlds Fair held in St.Louis, with several items in my home from the fair, but until today (Friday) I've never found anything directly linked to the fair with my metal detector. Friday 10-24-2014 was my lucky day...

This last week has been very good to me...

While I've been detecting over 20 years off and on, I just bought my new detector 2 months ago. I've been studying hard hoping to pass the e-trac school of learning. This last week I went to two locations that treated me well. First was a 1930 school that is getting torn down for some new...

    Question about threshold on E-trac

Often I get nulls right next to a good target sound, numbers jumping. What is most likely? 1) Two targets one iron the other good. or 2) An iron target acting as a good target. Is this a "got to dig"
